Buddy the Elf Missed Three Factors

Buddy the Elf advised me in January, 2017, to focus all my ebook sales at Amazon. I like Buddy, and his advice made sense at the time.

But, now that ten months have passed, I can say that Buddy missed three factors.

  1. Although most SpryFeet.com ebook sales come through Amazon, visibility at other retailers helps those sales.
  2. Some runners and walkers prefer ebook formats other than Kindle.
  3. There is a technology to simplify ebook distribution to retailers.

Factor #1 became evident when I looked at my year-over-year sales for each of the past ten months. Factor #2 became evident from informal conversations since January with fellow runners and walkers. Factor #3 is twice as powerful now, compared with when Buddy gave me his advice.

Presto change-o! Here are all the retailers where you can find my ebooks now:

To see all the retailers from which you can buy a given SpryFeet.com book as an ebook:

  1. Go to the Books page.
  2. Click the cover of the book of interest to you.
  3. Find and click this button on that book’s page:
    All Ebook Formats

You’ll then see a set of icons that looks something like this for that ebook:

You can then click the icon for your favorite retailer to buy the ebook from that retailer!

P.S. Amazon helped me to rationalize the prices of my Kindle ebooks, so that their new prices are in line with similar Kindle ebooks from other authors. Amazon told me that these new prices should maximize my royalties. And, I can tell you that some of the new prices can save you 50% — or more — over the old prices. Win-Win!

P.P.S. How ebook retailers handle exchange rates compared to the U.S. dollar (USD) may mean that you see slightly different prices in a non-USD currency across retailers. But, each ebook is USD-priced the same across all retailers. So, you can shop with confidence that you will pay the same for an ebook no matter from which retailer you get it!
