My books for $.99? Yes, but YOU decide…

Amazon Kindle BooksIf you have read any of my books, then you know that I put a lot into them.

The challenge has been, is, and always will be to get the visibility that I believe that the books deserve, so that more people who can be helped by my books can discover them, buy them, and benefit from them.

I read a few days ago an excellent book about selling Kindle ebooks for $.99. The author, who has written more than thirty Kindle ebooks, emphasized that the Amazon sales ranking of a book has a huge effect on future sales of that book — because it has a huge effect on the visibility of that book in the Amazon ecosystem.

If I price my Kindle ebooks at US$.99 on Amazon.com or the equivalent price at other Amazon sites around the world, then:

  1. I have lowered the barrier to the minimum for those who were considering buying them.
  2. My books’ sales rankings should improve.
  3. My books’ visibility will thereby improve.
  4. More folks who can benefit from my books will know about and buy them.

At least, that’s the theory!

The Big Announcement

Starting tonight, 15 August 2013, and for a limited time, you may get my Kindle ebooks for just $.99 each from Amazon.com, or whatever the equivalent is at other Amazon sites worldwide!

What’s in It for You?

You can build — or round out — a collection of my Kindle ebooks (no Kindle required) for a few dollars!

What’s in It for Me?

Purchases at $.99 improve my books’ Amazon rankings as much as purchases at their regular prices do. A better ranking leads to better visibility, which leads to more sales, even when the regular price returns.

This is important because slashing my books’ prices from their regular prices to Amazon’s bare minimum of $.99 has cut my royalty per sale by 83-93%.

Obviously, I would have to sell a lot more of my Kindle ebooks at $.99 than at their regular prices just to stay even.

Why Am I Doing This?

This is an experiment. I want to see whether this crazy-low $.99 price can boost my books’ visibility sufficiently to reach many more potential beneficiaries, even when I later put the books back to their regular but still-modest prices.

What’s the Urgency?

This is where you affect this experiment.

  • If I see no boost in sales and Amazon rankings from this $.99 price, then I will return the books to their regular prices — SOONER, rather than later!
  • The more that I see Amazon rankings improve at $.99, the longer that I will hold the price there.
  • You can take advantage of this by buying NOW at $.99 instead of taking a chance that you will wait so long that the books will have returned to their regular prices.

Order now, while you’re thinking about it. Otherwise, you may be unhappy later, and you know that I don’t want that!

Health/Gratitude/Happiness,

P.S. It makes sense, if you think about it, to click one of the “Share” links on this page to tell your friends and relatives about this, too. Thanks!

P.P.S. Besides Amazon sales ranking, the other big influence on a book’s visibility at Amazon is five-star ratings. If you like any of my books, then would you please “pay it forward” by sharing your opinion with other Amazon customers by giving the book a five-star rating there? Thank you.
