Walking taco

“What is a walking taco?”, you ask?

It is the name — coined by Scott Burggraf writing in Examiner.com — of a meal meant to be consumed during casual walking.

It gets its name from the fact that the starting point for the recipe is a small bag of Fritos-brand corn chips.

  1. Crunch the chips slightly before opening the bag.
  2. Open the bag.
  3. Add taco ingredients to the top of the chips inside the bag.
  4. Mix everything slightly.

Voila! You have a self-contained meal that can be carried in one hand and consumed with a fork in the other hand.

What have you eaten while hiking? Please leave a comment here. Thanks!
